Happy Birthday to me !

As everyone knows, for me, my birthday is a big day like New Year, Christmas, National Day … And for a few years (three / four years), I always organise something big and everyone is used to it.

And this year, I had an even bigger, crazier plan than in previous years. This plan, I had developed it since June (6 months in advance yes yes) but now that arrived in October I change my mind and I canceled everything. I wanted to reveal the plan to you but maybe I’ll realize it one of these days 🙂 So surprise surprise this year I did not organize anything, at least nothing that involved other people than me.

So I’m going to at least tell you what I did; I didn’t necessarily want to do something on December 13, but I couldn’t “do nothing” on Belgian soil like spending the day at home as if it was a day like everyday. NO WAY. So what I did was that I booked a night at the hotel in a neighboring foreign country, to spend the evening of December 12 and my birthday there, alone (or not :)).

And I made up a program for myself, so here’s what I did:

After settling down, I did a “late night walk” I wandered around the city, for an hour I would say, downwind, the Christmas mood and everything, with music in my ears. Then I was ordered food, my last meal or first meal I don’t know: sushis. Then when I got back, I had an hour before midnight, so I wrote down the summary of my past year, and the lessons I learned from it.

And while last year I was blowing out my candles at midnight, this year it was by being rocked by “Withholding Nothing” from my fav William McDowell that I started my new year.

After I planned to watch a movie and everything but I was too tired so I went to sleep and I woke up the next day, with my “25th Birthday Playlist” (which will be published shortly), I got ready with it, I had lunch with it…. a morning all in worship and praise !!! 🙂

Then as I wanted to take advantage of the room (especially the bed !!) I went back to sleep for 1 hour, until I had to prepare myself to leave the place. Then I landed at a Starbuck, ordered a Lime Refresha and I sat down for 1 hour 30 minutes to list my goals for this new year, write and post this article to you and then hit the road to Belgium where a program is waiting for me.

The truth? I had a great time for real! Far from social networks, from my phones (in airplane mode) and I can only encourage you to do the same, even on another day than your birthday! So I wonder if it will not become my new tradition of December 13…

Anyway, happy birthday to me, and as I said at the beginning of the article, this day only marks the beginning of the festivities since for my birthday: “we know when it starts, but we don’t know when it ends “.

So to be continued !!

Much love,

The Christianista
